The Department of Administration, typically housed within the College of Administration and Economics at Salahaddin University-Erbil, is a cornerstone for fostering the next generation of leaders and professionals in various administrative and managerial fields. The department is comprised of a dedicated team of academic staff, including professors, assistant professors, lecturers, and assistant lecturers, who bring diverse expertise in administrative theories, practices, and research. Name: Dr.Jwan Sadullah Rashed

Born on January 6, 1977, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, she is a distinguished academic and leader with deep roots in the region. Her heritage is rich, with her father hailing from the Kurdish Dizayee tribe in the village of Gird Mala (Gardamala) near Erbil, and her mother from Shaqlawa, belonging to the Khoshnaw tribe. She is married to Brigadier General Shamal Anwar Rawandzi, who currently serves as the Director of the Coordination Office between the Federal Government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

Academic Journey

Her academic journey reflects a strong dedication to the field of business administration and strategic management:

Ph.D. in Strategic Management (2022)

She earned her doctorate from **Salahaddin University – Erbil**, in collaboration with **Zarqa University in Jordan**. Her dissertation, "Strategic Leadership and Institutional Performance in the Public Sector," highlights her expertise in critical areas of organizational development.

M.Sc. in Business Administration (2004)

She completed her Master's degree at **Al-Mustansiriyah University in Baghdad**. Her thesis focused on "Organizational Behavior in Public Institutions," showcasing an early interest in the dynamics of public sector management.

B.Sc. in Business Administration (1999)

Her foundational degree was also obtained from **Al-Mustansiriyah University, Baghdad**, laying the groundwork for her extensive career.

Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the Business Administration Department will be able to:

  1. Have a general understanding of the core business disciplines, including management, HRM, operations, marketing, finance, and accounting.
  2. Employ effective communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and collaboration skills to perform effectively in professional settings.
  3. Build and implement effective business plans by considering opportunities, managing risks, setting objectives, and making informed, evidence-based decisions.
  4. Identify and uphold business ethics and apply ethical thinking in professional decision-making and conduct.
  5. Demonstrate the ability to identify, analyze, and develop new business ideas and entrepreneurial opportunities.

Admissions

The Department of Business Administration offers two types of study options for prospective students, ensuring accessibility and flexibility based on individual circumstances:

 
  1. Zankoline (government-funded) Study
  • Description: This option provides free tuition for students who meet the eligibility criteria and are accepted through the general centralized admission system, known as "Zancoline."
  • Eligibility:
    • Applicants must meet the academic requirements of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
    • Selection is competitive and based on high school scores, particularly in scientific subjects.
  • Benefits:
    • Exemption from tuition fees.
    • Access to complete university services and facilities.
  1. Parallel Study (Self-Funded)
  • Description: This option allows students who do not secure a Zankoline seat to pursue their studies by paying a tuition fee.
  • Tuition Fee: 1,100,000 IQD per year.
  • Eligibility:
    • Students must meet the minimum academic requirements for admission to the Biology program.
    • This option provides additional opportunities for students to catch up on the Zankoline criteria.
  • Benefits:
    • Access to the same high-quality education, resources, and facilities as Zancoline students.
    • Students can pursue their academic goals without being limited by centralized admission quotas.
 

Admission Requirements for Both Tracks

  1. Academic Qualifications:
    • Completion of high school with a focus on the science track (math).
    • Minimum GPA as determined by the Ministry of Higher Education.
  2. Application Process:
    • Apply through the centralized admission system for Zankoline
    • Submit required documents, including transcripts, identification, and certificates.
  3. Language Proficiency:
    • Basic proficiency in English, as several courses are delivered in English.
    • Kurdish language proficiency is also beneficial.
